【析形】形声字。古文字形从角，光声。角是酒器，表示与酒器有关。
【释义】《说文》：“兕牛角可以饮者也。”本义是古代用兽角制的盛酒或饮酒器。后也用木或青铜制。腹椭圆形或方形，底为圈足或四足，有流，有把手。盖作成带角的兽头形或长鼻上卷的象头形。也有整体作兽形的。有的觥内附有酌酒用的勺。盛行于商代和西周前期。[觥筹交错]酒杯和酒筹交互错杂，形容许多人聚在一起饮酒的热闹情景。
