【释义】《说文》：“帛也。”本义是缯帛。古代缯帛织品十分珍贵，常用作祭祀或馈赠的礼品，后来泛指包括车马皮帛玉器等礼物。礼重往来，故有交换和信用之义，故后来表示商品交换的媒介物货币。
